Reflecting on his forty years of teaching and administration in Lancaster County Anabaptist schools, Jonas wonders why there is great enthusiasm for business and mission, but less energy for preparing our young people at school. Perhaps, he suggests, our well-grounded reticence towards education is making us more vulnerable to the secularizing effect of universities. Perhaps the school could more closely match the vision of our churches, missions, and businesses. Perhaps it is time that our generation seriously address our own vision for education.
