Steven Brubaker shares this quote from Page 198 of John Taylor Gatto’s A Different Kind of Teacher:
The new vision of American education is going to have to find a currency beyond money and grades with which to pay its children to learn. My own experience after fifteen years of sponsoring service learning projects for each of my students, rich and poor, white and black, is that a curriculum that seeks the common good will be an important part of that real currency which doesn’t recede or inflate. It holds its value.
