“Multiplication blanks” was created for students who are disorganized when doing long division with multi-digit divisors and multi-digit products (e.g., 36,281/42). One multiplication “square” is used per multi-digit problem. It serves two purposes: (1) it eliminates the student recalculating the same divisor-times-guess when solving for each digit in the quotient, and (2) it helps the student visualize if s/he needed a smaller or larger guess, as it kept all the products in value order.
