Conquering Subjectivity in Assessments and Embracing the Rubric (Sharon Martin)

Most teachers have at some point stared helplessly at papers or projects and wondered how to grade them efficiently and fairly. The rubric is the teacher’s friend for efficient and fair marking, and is also a wonderful tool to help improve students’ learning. This presentation explores the rationale for rubric use, provides an opportunity to practice grading with a rubric, and prepares teachers to create their own rubrics.
