Powers of the Square Root of -1

This file is designed to enable an instructor to teach about the square root of -1 without using the negative terminology of “imaginary” and “complex”. At least some of the concepts in this file can be introduced before the Algebra 2 textbook teaches students about the so-called “imaginary” numbers. This way students will already have experience with the reality of these numbers when they finally learn the unfortunate terminology. If you print the file, print it at its actual size or a larger size since shrinking may remove important detail from the printed graphics. A laser printer will probably produce better results if it is set to a darker mode than normal.
