Maximizing Teachable Moments in the Classroom: Current Events

Should current events be taught as a one-time per week class, a daily 5-minute reference and review, or simply integrated into class discussions? How can the teacher maximize the nearly-universal interests in the here and now? How can the teacher develop an alertness to connections between typical lesson content and what is current news? In this presentation, we explore these questions and more.
